Cross Country 2017

Wow what a day Friday was for our annual cross country! The sun came out and was a beautiful day. The track was in great shape -hills were still steep and there was still mud in the bog. It was just the way we like it! We all ran our absolute hardest and put in the very best effort we could.
It was awesome to see so many of our parents and families there to support us! We really appreciate you all coming to cheer us on! To the teachers on the course -thank you for your support and for encouraging us to keep going and push ourselves!

Well done to everyone for doing your best and a special high five to all those students who managed to get placings!

We are all super proud of ourselves! Check out some of our pictures -the facials are especially awesome!

Pet Day!

What a wonderful day it was! Pet day was again a hit this year with a wide range of beautiful pets! The students have done so well preparing, organising and looking after their pets for this big day and they are all so very proud of their pets. It is always so exciting to see the bonds students have built with their pets and how much they truly care for them! A big thanks to parents who supported their children in bringing along a pet to pet day!

William brought along his drone to pet day and got some pretty awesome footage! Thanks William! Video edited by Miss Simpson! Thank-you

Exploring with the Camera!

Today, the year 6 students in Room 5 explored 2 different photography concepts. We looked at extreme close ups and different textures. It was very interesting thinking and looking at our basic, normal surroundings, yet noticing amazing things that we had never noticed before. We discovered living things and different objects within our school that truly are quite amazing and interesting!

Take a look at what we discovered!

Turner's Sports Tournament

Yesterday, many of the year 6 students from Room 5 competed in the Turner's Sports Tournament at North Street School. We played netball and rugby, and had a wonderful day filled with some great skill, some good competitive games and fun! Both teams won 2 of their games and unfortunately lost a game each. This meant we come 2nd overall in both sports. Well done to all the children that competed and played their best! Thank you to North Street School for hosting us, again. I'm sure we will be back again next year. Check out the action shots!

Toy stories come to life!

On Friday's over the past few weeks, the year 6's from Room 5 have been working on writing and creating a story where one of their beloved childhood toys is the main character of an adventure story. They took photos and videos of their toy on an adventure, wrote the storyline and created their movies. Check them out!

Wicked Writing!

Over the past few weeks in Room 5, we have been working on a number of pieces of writing, including character descriptions of a special person. There were many awesome pieces about annoying and amazing siblings, groovy grandparents, and kind loving parents. They were so enjoyable to read and the students have worked so hard to create a piece full of description and personal voice. We would like to share some of our pieces with you. Enjoy!
